🎙️ Working from the Heart, Not the Studio: The Inspired Road to This Podcast
I didn’t plan to launch this interview series through Substack.
The original idea? Record rich, soul-led conversations on Zoom, edit them beautifully, and publish on YouTube—visually polished, professionally presented. That’s what most people do, right?
But the reality?
Kasia’s mic was her laptop’s. My internet was hanging on by a thread. Her voice came through softer than mine, and when I tried to edit it in Riverside, my hotspot just couldn’t cope. The lip sync was off by a nano-second—which doesn’t sound like much, but in an intimate conversation, it’s distracting. And it mattered to me that it felt connected.
I spent 14 hours downloading, exporting, re-uploading, editing—trying to get it “just right.”
But it still wasn’t right.
Not because I was chasing perfection—this wasn’t about ego. It was about honouring the content. There was something in me that knew: this deserved better than compromise.
And here’s the truth we don’t talk about enough:
We have so many choices these days.
And yes, that can be overwhelming—so overwhelming it stops us from starting at all.
But when you’re determined to serve—when you know in your bones that what you want to share could bring value, comfort, or clarity to someone else—then there’s no other option than to begin.
You’ll more than likely start in the “wrong” place.
It’ll feel messy.
You’ll struggle and feel like you’re failing before you’ve even found your flow.
But that’s not failure. That’s how we find it.
That’s how we stumble toward the right platform, the right method, the right rhythm to bring an idea into form.
It was only after those 14+ hours of getting nowhere—and then trying again, and again—that my mind finally took a breather.
And instead of giving up or clinging to “this has to be the way,” I looked sideways.
And that’s when I saw Substack differently—not just as a writing space, but as a space to speak.
And it felt right.
So while the official launch of this series is coming in June, I wanted to share this part now—a little behind-the-scenes look at what’s been unfolding.
🎧 A Sneak Peek Into the Series
To give you a taste of what’s coming, here’s the opening three minutes of Episode One—my personal introduction to the series:
(Click play below to hear what this series is all about, why I created it, and the heart behind my collaboration with Kasia.)
This podcast is called “When Animal Communicator Meets Integrative Vet”—a heartfelt collaboration with Dr. Kasia Chudy, a holistic veterinarian whose values around end-of-life care, animal agency, and gentle partnership with pets are deeply aligned with mine.
Together, we’ve created a series of intimate, unscripted conversations that explore how communication and veterinary care can work together—not separately—to support animals through their senior years, through illness, and through the sacred transition at life’s end.
These are conversations I wish more pet parents had access to. They’re raw, reflective, sometimes practical, sometimes deeply emotional. They hold space for grief, for humour, for the questions we’re often afraid to ask out loud.
And that’s why I couldn’t let a few tech hurdles stop me.
If there’s a message tucked inside this side story, it’s this:
When your desire to serve others is stronger than your perfectionism, you find a way.
Even if it’s the long road. Even if it’s not the one you thought you’d take.
So no, this series won’t be YouTube-polished.
But it will be real. It will be tender. It will be worth listening to.
💌 The first full episode launches in June 2025.
